She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Bennett College for Women in Greensboro, NC. During her graduate studies, Smith’s mother tragically passed away from heart failure. The early stages of grieving her mother, Smith turned from God, numbed her pain with alcohol, drugs, sex and fell into a deep depression with thoughts of suicide.
At age 24, Smith moved to DC to work for the federal government. Smith continued to numb the pain and gained over 50lbs. One night her God came to her in a dream and said your mother is fine but you are going to die if you keep living the way your living. Shortly thereafter, Smith connected with a local personal trainer, which led her to a local church where Smith began attending. Presently, Smith has a nutrition business, Nutrition On A Mission, LLC, where she provides nutrition services along with fitness support.
Smith’s life experiences led her to write the book Pressurized for Greatness: Five Things about the Grace of Tomorrow. In her book, she opens up about rejection as a child, low self-esteem, finding conditional acceptance in the world, life in homosexuality, overcoming grief, rededicating her life to Christ and being whole in Jesus Christ. Presently, Smith has a speaking business, IveySpeaks, LLC, where she boldly shares the revealed truth of the word of God. Standing on John 8:32 Jesus said, “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”.
Currently working full time, the 35-year-old is a licensed minister and won hundreds of souls to Jesus Christ through street evangelism with a goal to share Jesus Christ through the ministry of reconciliation with the world at large. Her future goal is to train and equip disciples to walk in the power and authority God has given them by flowing in the spirit of faith, unity and love. Her hope one day is to see the body of Christ witnessing and saving the lost.
